Mona Lisa of the Fields

Lisa Giacondo is alive

I had thought her dead these five hundred years

Now she is mine in the flesh

I possess her as Leonardo once did

Though Leondardo the fool gave her away

I demand the Louvre relinquish her beauty

I saw her alive workig in the field.

That strong Italian back was turned to me

I admired (as visitors to the Louvre cannot do)

those warm wide hips made for love and babies

She turned and looked at me

Feel those dark eyes staring

Eyes dark with the sadness of mothers and lovers

She smiled for me that most famous half smile

Mona Lisa I am yours now

You own me with your eyes and smile

Your skin and hair won me Madonna Lisa

I saw you smile in the fileds

Framed against the red pines and the sky

You are mine now completely

I will not give you away recklessly

As Leonardo did to an undeserving world.
